Lesson 4: MREs and Why You Should Experiment with Emergency Food Supplies

Not all “Meals Ready to Eat” (MREs) are created equal. Military Rations are roughly 3200 calories and were designed to help soldiers maintain muscle density during extreme exercises. Sopakco Emergency Ration Meals are civilian rations. They were designed to provide roughly 1200 calories and to be used during emergencies.

Where they are not gourmet foods and lack a lot of flavor, unlike other emergency meals they are low in sodium and are great for a quick grab and go meal, while not being too heavy on the pocket book. This makes them the perfect rations to experiment with. Prepping 101 makes no commission by recommending these meals, Bob Yeager simply is recommending something he personally stocks up on.
